Strong Schools NC Public Health Toolkit (K-12) recommends that daily temperature checks and symptom screenings (Attestation Forms) are no longer required for students to board a bus or enter a school building. This change will go into effect on Monday, May 3, 2021 for all Caswell County students. Parents/Guardians should conduct daily home-based symptom screenings prior to students boarding a bus, exiting a car, or entering a school. Students with any of the following symptoms of COVID-19 should not attend school.

    Monitoring for Symptoms at Home

    • Fever (temperature of 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or higher)
    • Sore Throat
    • Cough (for people with chronic cough due to allergies or      asthma, a change in their cough from baseline)
    • Difficulty Breathing (for people with asthma, a change from their baseline breathing)
    • New loss of taste and smell
    • Diarrhea or vomiting
    • New onset of severe headaches

Face masks for students and staff will still be required inside school buildings, on school buses, and anywhere on school grounds including, outside except for mask breaks. Students will still enter the school at their designated entry areas. We will continue to monitor the NC Strong Toolkit for other changes regarding face masks in May.

Caswell County Schools will continue to conduct daily temperature checks and health screenings for employees and other adults entering a school or building through the end of the school year.
