This is an Honors Course for students developing further proficiency in the skills and techniques learned in Intermediate Visual Arts 2 classes. The course work will apply the drawing techniques and painting techniques learned in Art 1 & 2 with additional skill building practices.
Exploration and skill building in charcoal drawing, oil pastels, chalk pastels, acrylic painting, Prismacolor pencil techniques, and mixed media will be covered to produce higher quality artwork.
Students will be researching artists, art movements, and artwork from American History to review, analyze, compare & contrast, and evaluate from which to draw inspiration to create new original artwork. Self-evaluations and peer critiques will be part of the literacy component of this Honors Course.
This course is required before taking Advanced Visual Arts 4 Honors.
