• ELA: 

    • Demonstrate command of the capitalization, punctuation, and spelling when writing
    • Students should be able to spell sight words correctly and spell other words by the sounds they hear in the word.
    • Writing informational sentences (i.e. The dog is big.)
    • Students should start their sentences with a capital letter, put spaces between their words, and end their sentences with a period.

    Math:

    • Count to 100
    • Write numbers 0-20 in order
    • Analyze, compare, create, and compose 2D and 3D shapes
    • Represent addition and subtraction within 10
    • Find the number to make 10 (i.e. 2 and 8 make 10)
    • Demonstrate fluency with addition and subtraction within 5
    • Compose and decompose teen numbers into ten and some ones

     

    Reading:

    • Recognize 52 upper- and lowercase letters
    • Print 52 upper- and lowercase letters
    • Identify and produce 26 letter sounds and 5 digraph sounds (sh, th, wh, ch, and ck)
    • Read 97 sight words
    • Independently read a Level D book
    • Associate long and short vowel sounds in words (i.e. kit has a short i sound; kite has a long i sound)
    • Recognize common types of texts (fiction vs. nonfiction)
