  • N.L. Dillard Music

    Mr. Walters is excited for the 2022-2023 School Year. He is looking forward to learning, creating, and talking about many different musical ideas with you all this year!

     

  • Band

    • In this class, students will learn how to play an instrument, to read music, and to perform in an ensemble with their peers who are also learning to play the same, or different instruments.
    • Creativity, self expression, cooperation with peers, and independent practice are all very important characteristics that are common among band students.

  • Music Production

    • We are lucky to have the opportunity to have a music production class through the producer SkiBeatz, for a curriculm that allows students to create, mix, and arrange music using actual software that is used in the professional music industry.
    • Creativity, Collaboration, and Curiosity are all traits that are going to be useful in learning how to use and master this software to become a music producer.

  • North Carolina Music Essential Standards

     

    Music Literacy:

         ML.1: Apply musical elements to play instruments with proper tone, technique/accuracy, and expression.
         ML.2: Interpret musical notation (read music) for pitch, rhythm, dynamics, tempo, articulation, expression, and other musical elements
         ML.3: Create music by improvising, arranging, and composing.

     

    Musical Response

         MR.1: Respond to music by interpreting the cues of a conductor
