Mr. Jared L. Terrell
Mr. Terrell is a native of Caswell County and graduate from Bartlett Yancey High School. He is happy to be teaching Visual Arts classes in the very classroom that he took Art Classes in the late 1980s! "I have been around the world and back full circle," says Mr. Terrell. "Happy to have a career in my dream job of teaching our youth the joys, challenges, skills, techniques, and appreciation of drawing, painting, and the creative processes of Art."
After graduating from Bartlett Yancey Senior High School, a young Mr. Terrell moved to Rome, Italy from 1991 to 1993 having many service opportunities and adventures overseas. Mr. Terrell is fluent in Italian as a second language, is an expert in History, and Art History.
In addition to growing up in Caswell County and traveling abroad, he has also lived in Miami, Florida, Las Vegas, Nevada, and the Rocky Mountains.
He attended the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale focusing on Industrial Design, North Carolina Agricultural & Technical University studying Architectural Engineering, and Guilford Tech before transferring to Brigham Young University.
Mr. Terrell is a graduate of Brigham Young University with a BA in History and Certification in Secondary Education. He also graduated from Provo College with a Degree in Graphic Design.
In 2002 he began his teaching career at Lee County High School in Sanford, NC teaching History, Social studies, and Humanities. In the Fall of 2016 Mr. Terrell returned to his home county to teach Fine Art & Visual Arts at Bartlett Yancey High School.
When Mr. Terrell finds spare time he attends various Comicons as a featured Artist creating comic book and science fiction fan art. He is a professional artist that accepts Fine Art commissions. He enjoys hiking, the outdoors, exploring trails, fishing and nature photography.
