Parents & Students,
Please be advised that all of our coursework will come from the North Carolina Dept of Public Instruction. Most assignments will be completed in class on paper and in the shop. Students may need to study at home for quizzes and tests; and a NCdpi CTE Post Assessment is required at the end of Woodworking I. Woodworking II students have the opportunity to earn a Sawblade Certificate through Woodworker Career Alliance (WAC). Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact me by email at jw.cobler@caswell.k12.nc.us.

Mr. Cobler
Hello parents!
I'm J Wayne Cobler, the Woodworking Teacher at Bartlett Yancey Senior High School. I have over 35 years experience of teaching and training young people in various roles. I look forward to our time together, and all of the great fun that we will have!
I retired from the US Army in 2007 with over 20 years' service. I have a master's degree in Physical Education from NC A&T State University, located in Greensboro, North Carolina. I taught Health & PE for 12 years and began teaching Woodworking at Bartlett Yancey High School in August 2021. I grew up in Virginia, and saw the world while serving in the Army. I have lived in North Carolina for over 20 years. My teaching style is a hybrid form, where I am actively incorporating many different forms of teaching and learning that I have acquired through the years.
