An employee in this class will spend a portion of the day performing the duties and responsibilities of a custodian, cleaning, maintaining buildings, and grounds. The employee performs recurring tasks by following established practices and cleaning schedules. The employee will also operate a school bus on an assigned route(s). Under the supervision of the Transportation Director, the employee will maintain his/her assigned building, group of buildings, including office space clean, orderly, and secure during assigned shift; and other related duties as required. All other related duties as required.
High school graduate or equivalent or higher preferred. Must be able to lift at least 50lbs; Some knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment. Some skill in the use of small equipment used in routine cleaning and grounds works, if necessary. Ability to understand and follow simple oral or written directions. Maintain effective work relationships; Must possess and maintain a valid North Carolina Class A or Class B Commercial Driver’s License with school bus certification and a DOT Physical.
